Dr. Tejas R. Mehta, an internee doctor from admission batch 2009 of Smt. B.K. Shah Medical Institute and Research Centre had attended the 25th European Students' Conference Charieté - Universitätsmedizin Berlin held at Berlin, Germany on 20th of September 2014. He presented a poster entitled “ Use of oxymetric saturation (spO2)/ fraction of inspired oxygen (fiO2) ratio as a surrogate of paO2/ fiO2 ratio in diagnosing acute respiratory failure” under Pulmonology Section. His paper was adjudged as the BEST POSTER and he was declared winner of the session. This particular conference is considered as one of the most esteemed conferences for students at international level. Paper was prepared under guidance of Dr. Chaitri T. Shah, Associate professor in Anaesthesiology and ICU in-charge & Dr. J.D. Lakhani , Professor and Head of Medicine department.

 

 

Dr. Sagar Jani , a Intern Doctor was awarded the Short Term Studentship (STS) for a period of two months during the year 2013 by the Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi. He successfully conducted the project entitled Meralgia parasthetica, its prevalence and associated co-morbidities with special reference to Diabetes Mellitus in rural setup Tertiary Care Teaching Hospital (Ref. No. 2013- 02516) under guidance of Dr.J.D.Lakhani, Professor & Head, Department of Medicine. The Project was submitted to the ICMR and was certified to be satisfactory.

Sagar Jani has deep interest in research and academic activities. So far he has also attended three scientific conferences/workshops in India and one each in USA, Netherland and Malaysia


 

Dr. Viral I. Champaneri, a third year resident doctor, Department of Physiology was awarded the First prize for his oral paper presentation “ A study of variation in cardiopulmonary parameters with different body positions during isometric exercise in young adult males” in the 3rd International Conference on Basic & Applied Physiology (3rd ICONBAP) held at NHL Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad on 20th & 21st December 2014.


 


 

Dr. Pratik N. Akhani, a third year resident doctor, Department of Physiology was awarded the Second prize for his oral paper presentation “ A comparative study of visual reaction time in young football players and healthy controls ” in the 3rd International Conference on Basic & Applied Physiology (3rd ICONBAP) held at NHL Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad on 20th & 21st December 2014. 


Dr. MITALI RATHOD Second Year Resident in Medicine has won the First Prize at JIC 2015 Scientific Poster Presentation Competition held at Tagore Hall, Ahmedabad on January23-25, 2015. And She was awarded Cash Prize of the Rupees 20,000 along with the Certificate. The research project was guided by Dr. Arti Muley, Associate Professor of Medicine.


Dr. Dhruvin J. Shah and Dr. Rajan V. Kantharia, Third Year Resident Doctor Department of Medicine, won “Second Runner Up” in Dr. S D Deodhar All India Intercollegiate Post Graduate Rheumatology Quiz, Gujarat State Level in Regional Round held at NHL Medical College, Ahmadabad on 31st July 2016.



Dr. Anuj  Kodnani, Intern Doctor, SBKSMIRC has successfully completed “The Global Changemakers’ Global Youth Summit” held at Switzerland on 24th – 30th July 2016. He was one of the participant among top 60 participants selected worldwide and only participant from Gujarat. He prepared & presented  about “ How to aware about   HIV in India”




 

Mr Karan Mohanlal Dholu, a Medical Student from SBKS MIRC has Successfully Completed his Professional Exchange Program.He Worked in Department of General Surgery at "SS.ANNUNZIATA" - CHIETI, ITALY during the period 03/10/2016 - 28/10/2016 under the supervision of PROF. PAOLO INNOCENTI. This Program was organised by International Federation of Medical Students's Association. The IFMSA Exchanfe Program are Endorsed by World Federation of Medical Education
